Below median 2L; summer at v5

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jan 13, 2015 3:00 pm

Should I be worried right now? Just got my grades in and I didn't do well at all. The firm is 100% offer but could they be cold offering for grades?

The party line is that grades don't matter, but they might matter more if you're not at a top school. Either way, you're at a 100% offer firm, so you're in a good spot - just work hard and do good work.

Nothing story worthy. Pushed the limits of 2lol too far. Skipped a lot of classes and didn't study until a week before exams. I'm a bit worried now with two Bs at CLS in one semester.

You're fine so long as the V5 isn't Wachtell, Cravath, SullCrom, or Davis Polk.

Can't do anything about it now, though. So just do a good job this summer and maybe put in 10-20% more effort in the spring semester. If you do crappy work over the summer, they won't care how good your grades are. Vice versa on that too.

I'm in the exact same spot (CLS, 2 Bs this semester, going to V5) and I'm not worried. You shouldn't be either.

Actually, they probably won't care all that much about your work either.
