Biglaw Salaries going up?

Postby trbrny » Thu Jan 08, 2015 5:18 pm

Has anyone else heard rumors about biglaw starting salaries going up? I keep hearing bits here and there, but nothing substantive.

Were his initials F.P? If so I too heard that he had heard about people hearing about grumblings, but I couldn't be sure.

OP make poll with options for each level of hearsay.

I mean more $$$ is great but what reason do law firms have to raise starting salaries? It's not like there's a shortage of law grads.

I know a guy who knows a guy, but he also predicted a Romney presidency. It's all up in the air.

Ask again later. Signs point to yes.

Unsubstantiated rumors in my firm are that an associate was accidentally cc'ed on an email that indicated that an announcement about changes to the salary structure will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

Also heard rumors about DPW going to 185 soon.

Again, all unsubstantiated.

2015 salary memo just went out at my firm this week and there were no changes. We'd likely be one of the first to move, and would definitely follow any moves elsewhere (i.e. if there was substance to DPW moving I seriously doubt my firm would have released its memo), so I think this can be put to bed for at least another year.

If this is true, props to DPW for being such a trendsetter as of late.

It's bad form to pretend to be two people by abusing anon.
