Shit that's 10.6 hours a work day (Assuming you take off roughly a week for the holidays). Lets bear down brothers.Desert Fox wrote:1606

When does your year end? Ours closed on Halloween. Weird, but meh.Desert Fox wrote:Shit that's 10.6 hours a work day (Assuming you take off roughly a week for the holidays). Lets bear down brothers.Desert Fox wrote:1606
I'm just now starting on the billable budget thing, and am trying to come up with a system of checkpoints through out the year to stay on track. Any advice for the n00bs?

So who do you bill for all the time you spend on TLS? I like to sprinkle it out amongst diff. clients but was wondering what TCR was on this...Desert Fox wrote:1606

At 1801 not counting 77.3 of nonbillable
Will probably be like 50 hrs short of 2000
Edit: whenever anyone says "bear down" I think of pooping

Re: HOURS CHECK
This actually might be a useful thread as there seems to be much misinformation out there about hours.
I am at 1881 since January 1, and that's with being on vacation from June 25 until July 21. I think the highest realistically i might see by year end is 2300.

1160 hours, not counting non-billable or client development.

Re: HOURS CHECK
Billable year started Jan. 1.
1932 billable
47 non-billable that count
112 non-billable that go into a black hole
This year sucks.

Re: HOURS CHECK
I'm pretty sure I'll get a bonus for hitting 1950, but it's not explicitly clear. Also I have 140 hours of bullshit first year credits in that 1606.r6_philly wrote:What happens if you don't make 2k?
Other than the bonus nothing.

Re: HOURS CHECK
Just checked. 1719.85 as of Monday. Was on track for about 2400 at the end of July. Now I don't think I'll come even close to breaking 2000 given the long vacation planned for December, but glad I'm at a firm that doesn't care about hours for bonuses. Includes about 60 hours of pro bono that I don't care to try to separate out. Billable year starts Jan. 1.

Re: HOURS CHECK
As a first yr and with the nonbillable stuff that people asked me to do I'll probably still get a nice bonusr6_philly wrote:What happens if you don't make 2k?
That was what happened w the assoc who started a yr before me
Sr assocs have told me not to worry
The sr assoc told me I'd be okay with like 1700-1800 and nonbillable

Re: HOURS CHECK
1st year, corporate work, V20. Hours started on January 1. Billed 2260 as of November 1 (30ish was pro bono) with no signs of slowing down. Not as bad as I thought it would feel but a vacation in December would be nice.

Re: HOURS CHECK
Just finished my first 12 months, billed 2350, not including some obnoxious number of hours of training time.
