Yes. For many reasons. Those firms are the dream though. A dream where you can't dream because you don't sleep.

I don't know if Cravath belongs in that group, but I wouldn't call it a joke.

Haven't looked at promotional materials but ok. Don't see what's unreasonable about being excited about a firm who is very strong in the practice group you want and where you enjoyed the time you spent with the people you met with /spoke to after the offer.

Nice blanket assumption. ITT junior associates who hate their lives/firms mock students for GASP being excited about their jerb. Keep fighting the good fight though

My point is that dream is the wrong word. It's just not. A firm can be great. The work can be great. It's not a dream. I wouldn't say working into the ground is a dream.

I want to do lit in DC but declined my CB at W&C because I am fond of the idea of seeing my family and the sun at the same time.

Ok
I think people are pointing out that law students are overly optimistic about dream jobs/firms/careers. When you're actually practicing and reality sets in as you're crying at your desk, you won't be quite so optimistic anymore.

You people are absolutely insufferable. You make a lot of money. There are worse jobs in the world. Stop the incessant complaining about a career path you voluntarily chose.
