Any info on this office? I have an upcoming interview. I'm interested in litigation, but according to NALP like 3/4 of the attorneys there are transactional. Makes me wonder if I'm wasting my time interviewing.

Student here. Did some research and found that it's mostly transactional/energy. You could get work from NYC. Hired a bunch of former partners that defected from Texas firms. Market pay. It's growing. You probably will be 2nd or 3rd in projects. Small office culture.

I interviewed there. Very small office, super nice people, but definitely seem to be looking for 100% transactional people.

I hope not. I stated pretty explicitly in my cover letter that I wanted lit...

Edit: oops, nvm. Was a simplicity posting that didn't have a cover letter place. Well damn.

Above anon. If you were picked for an interview, then they obviously think there's something on your resume that lines up with what they do. I find that surprising because I stated I was open to either, but since my only experience was in lit I couldn't really speak to transactional work, and the interviewer immediately seemed put off by it and mentioned, in a gracious way, that they're mainly looking for transactional people. Look and see if anything in your work history meshes with what they do, or what your interviewer specifically does, and hopefully it's a good fit!
