Had a callback in which I met with the Executive Partner of the office. After I sent a thank you, he responded with

"Nice meeting you too. Would love to see you join (our firm). You’d certainly like it here."

Is it safe to say the offer call is coming soon?
I don't think it's a bad thing but lol at you being a safe bet.
Seems pretty bold that (1) the Executive Partner took the time to respond, and (2) said he would love to see you join the firm. Given that he likely values his reputation, I would think this means you are almost certainly getting an offer.

That being said, stranger things have happened.

I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but an email certainly doesn't mean that much in the grand scheme of things. If he felt compelled to respond he might have also felt compelled just not to make it awkward. I'm sure there are tons of people they would "like to see join the firm" that ultimately don't get offers. Seems weird to assume this means you're a lock, that's all.

Different anon from who? Because you are the same anon as the OP.

Also, none of this means anything until you actually have an offer. These are niceties, not promises. Someone saying they would love to see you join the firm is not the same as saying you will join the firm. Just forget about what anyone said until you hear back.

I understand your point, but would it make a difference that this was a second callback? Also, I happen to be close friends with a member of this partner's family, which we talked about at length during our meeting. (Grasping for straws here lol).
