Resume Question/Advice Needed
1L here, and I am tuning up my resume for upcoming job fairs and need some advice.
(1) Second semester grades haven't been posted, but am required to bid on positions by Friday. I was approx. top 38% after 1st semester grades. However, I calculated this percentile based on the calculator posted on TLS as my school only lists GPA percentiles in 5% increments. Should I just note my GPA and in parenthesis note (top 1/3=X GPA)? Or should I leave it off? Would having no percentile ranking reflect badly on my resume?
(2) Is there an example of adding positions that I am currently doing for the summer on the resume? Does one just put the position w/o a description even if I have worked on the job for 2 weeks doing some tasks?
(3) For minority job fairs w/grade cut offs, how flexible or inflexible are the requirements. I want to allocate bids accordingly and was wondering would someone such as me have a shot at positions that require top 1/4 or top 1/3 class ranks?
Sorry for all the questions but thanks for all the help! Greatly appreciate it.

If your school has not issued you a percentile ranking, I'm pretty sure you can't put one on your resume. If the school has issued those increments, though, what you propose about the GPA and giving the percentile in the parentheses works.

So would you recommend listing percentile ranking even if I am just below the increment, rather than leaving it off?A. Sure. If you leave it off, they won't have any idea where you fall, and might assume the worst.Anonymous User wrote:So would you recommend listing percentile ranking even if I am just below the increment, rather than leaving it off?A. Thank you! Would you have any insight on whether firms hold steady to their grade cut offs for diversity fairs. If not, how flexible are they usually?Sure. If you leave it off, they won't have any idea where you fall, and might assume the worst.

Sorry, I don't know anything about diversity fairs - someone else will have to weigh in.
