Anyone have to do absurdly detailed "pitches" for newly filed patent cases? Why would a client care about this.

Yes. What's worse is when you spend a lot of *non-billable* time on one and your firm actually gets the case and then you don't get staffed on it. This happened to me last week.

It's insane that we don't get billable credit for this. It's not like I writing some retarded biz dev article that nobody reads. It's a significant project devoted to a specific potential client.

Not giving billable credit for this kinda work is really TTT. I'm not looking forward to this BS.

DF let's start two firms and do shakedown operations where one firm sues and the other conveniently shows up to defend promising inside info on the other firm's strategies.

It's in the billing system but nobody gives a fuck how much biz dev you do.
