At a T14 that gives out Honors to 2Ls. Seems like all my friends interested in litigation are striving for it and make it sound prestigious. But my friends going into transnational care a lot less. Selection bias? Some other explanation?

Yes. Because it's generally harder to make partner in litigation if you don't clerk (at certain firms at least). This isn't the case with corporate work.
