My interview was pretty much 45 minutes on the dot

Interviewed this morning and my heart just stopped pounding! Everything on here has been so helpful. One 40-minute panel interview with 7 people asking you questions. Rapid fire!! Won’t hear anything until the end of the month or until first week of October. They stressed that the next 2.5 years at PTO would be intense with overtime and one day of telework offered after after 1 year. Mid-GS-13 year, you can work from home full time. You can hotel in the continental US in GS-14 year. There was no talk about applying to be a GS-14. You promote there automatically after 3 years. Memorable interview questions are the obvious: Why PTO, what are your strengths and weaknesses, what are you most proud of? Not so obvious: why hire you among the other 160 passionate attorneys, what makes you unique and memorable, and what in your background makes you sure you can work on a strict production basis. Good luck to all reading this!

Re: Attorney Advisor (Trademark Examining Attorney) for USPTO
Any thoughts on the differing times? Mine was just over 30 minutes with the panel (plus time chatting with staff afterward). Surprised to see some up as high as 40 and some as low as 20. I wonder if it is a case by case thing, or does a longer/shorter interview mean anything?
Good luck to everyone interviewing this week!

I would not overanalyze the times. Only one thing is true: NOBODY knows how or why they hire. Rest, Relax, and Recharge, and let's hope to hear sooner than later.

Have not heard of any more interviews in the thread. I wonder if interviews have concluded.

I second this. Unfortunately or fortunately, we have no idea. Really.
Good luck to everyone and i'm gonna try to busy myself with other things until the calls of soft offer comes in. *cross fingers*

Although it seems like interviews may have concluded and time is of the essence to fill the October class, I still would not expect any word to come out until early to mid-October. Remember, they are operating on "government time"

I would be legitimately surprised if they waited until mid October.Anonymous User wrote:Although it seems like interviews may have concluded and time is of the essence to fill the October class, I still would not expect any word to come out until early to mid-October. I hope you're right, that it won't take that long. Especially for people who need to give notice and/or relocate.
They have recently started giving notice when people are not hired (notice used to come exclusively from this page), so maybe they are making improvements to the hiring process across the board.
Personally I am still mulling how I should feel about their reluctance to hire experienced attorneys.

Anyone want to call the office and ask when they will be notifying us?

Look at the bright side: If you are not hired, you are missing out on a job that really does not pay much for the DC market. At least that's what I'm telling myself. My sense is that in hiring, they look for people who are like the people who are doing the hiring, with little in the way of real-world diversity.

When I interviewed the panel told me they would be making decisions/reaching out with decisions at the end of September/early October. Hopefully anyway now...

Not hearing back yet is ridiculous for those in the October class. What are they supposed to do, find an apartment, sign a lease, and move cross country in two-three weeks? Bleh.

Everyone should consider calling HR. I was trying to be patient, but the whole "this is already past mid-September" for an October start date is pretty nerve inducing.

If you want an update, instead of asking someone else multiple times to call, act your age and do it yourself.

You seem to be getting stressed and taking it out on others. We are all stressed about this decision. Let's not turn on one another, okay? We are in this together!

Poster who asked if anyone has called. I didn’t make any of the other posts about calling. I was curious if those discussing it earlier had done so. No reason to be rude. I know we are all stressed here!Anonymous User wrote:If you want an update, instead of asking someone else multiple times to call, act your age and do it yourself.
