Re: Heard Back For 1L SA Position
When are you guys going to follow up with the firms that didn't say anything?
Still only heard from about 25% of the firms I applied to on Dec. 1st.
Wait til grades are released at almost the end of January? Or hit em again sometime earlier than that?

Hope I get a grade or two back (that are decent) before the end of winter break and email to follow up so I can interview while I'm in town.Anonymous User wrote:When are you guys going to follow up with the firms that didn't say anything?

If that doesn't work out, I'll wait til I get grades.

Re: Heard Back For 1L SA Position
Does anybody know how long after a CB we can expect a decision? I had an interview last week with a firm in SoCal (V50). They told me they are hiring only one 1L, but interestingly enough, their web-page doesn't even have this office location as having an opening for this summer (though other offices throughout the U.S. do have openings).

Hey, people going to V&E Reception. Did you get a confirmation email or anything after contacted them about the reception? Not sure if I should follow up or if its safe to assume it's all good if I emailed em about it.

I have an interview with a secondary market firm tomorrow... anyone know what to expect? I've been reading around and apparently these last for hours? I was expecting it to be a quick thing, especially for a 1L.

Re: Heard Back For 1L SA Position
What's the best way to express ties to your hometown if you don't have family in your hometown anymore and just want to go back? Just say you grew up there, etc? Would it be too hokey to include references to sports teams (even if genuine?)

Re: Heard Back For 1L SA Position
I think it would be weird to mention each relative that lived there, I think it makes more sense to say you grew up there and would like to return to start practicing. Also maybe put the sports team in the interest section if you have one on your resume.Anonymous User wrote:What's the best way to express ties to your hometown if you don't have family in your hometown anymore and just want to go back? I have a CB interview with Jones Day - Cleveland in early January. Jones Day has been very quick with their responses overall. I have some Ohio ties (went to college here).

Do you mind sharing what school/tier you're attending?Anonymous User wrote:I have a CB interview with Jones Day - Cleveland in early January. Jones Day has been very quick with their responses overall. I have some Ohio ties (went to college here).
Did you submit grades with your application and send your stuff directly or use their service?
Any connections to the firm?

Ding from Haynes Boone Dallas. No traditional 1L program in the Dallas office; only doing a minority program.

Anyone send in apps to LA firms? Do they hire 1L SA's outside diversity programs?

Did the invite specifically mention the Fast Track program or just reference an early interview/recruiting program?Anonymous User wrote:Haynes Boone Dallas, invitation to apply for Fast Track program.
