Thoughts on internships after accepting an offer

A friend of mine is interested in working at a well-known financial services company part-time during her 3L year for credit as a legal intern. She's accepted an offer at a vault law firm that does a lot of work in this industry. She's asked me what I think about this, and I am not sure. Should she contact her firm that she has accepted an offer with and ask about potential conflicts before she accepts anything? Thoughts?

Eh, probably no one right answer, but I'd say don't sweat it UNLESS and UNTIL your friend comes across a case involving their firm. Then, I'd say your friend should tell the internship that in the interest of avoiding any conflicts, they shouldn't touch that case.

I'd advise both companies, then be vigilant about working on any cases that could potentially affect either company. Or just call your ethics committee hotline number.
