In your opinion, do you think that's an indication of their firm health or something else? (Going there this summer so curious.)

I don't know what the previous guy was thinking, but it seems pretty much like last year to me:

From ATL:
Class of 2012 — hours over 2000 — bonus of $10,000 [Cravath: $10,000].
Class of 2011 — hours over 2000 — bonus over $14,000 [Cravath: $14,000].
Class of 2009 — hours over 2200 — bonus over $45,000 [Cravath: $27,000].
Class of 2008 — hours around 2000 — bonus over $25,000 but under $30,000 [Cravath: $34,000].
Class of 2008 — hours over 2300 — bonus over $55,000 [Cravath: $34,000].
Class of 2007 — hours over 2000 — bonus over $30,000 but under $40,000 [Cravath: $40,000].

Sidley is blackbox, meaning individualized bonuses. Massive self selection bias in terms of who forwards their comp email to ATL.

Yeah, but big earners are always eager to talk about it, so I wouldn't be surprised if that had a high chance of finding its way to ATL just as low earners do.

My totally uninformed opinion is that it would probably skew on the high end, yeah.

Can't go into too much detail because I know people who still haven't received word, so unfortunately it doesn't get more specific than that for now. Everyone should know what they're getting by tomorrow evening.

Man this black box thing seems like a massive pain in the ass for the partners. I'd rather just give everyone their Cravath scale and be done with it.

From what I hear from friends who work there, K&E bonuses are looking really solid.

Yeah they're good. Above basically everyone but WLRK, Boies, Susman and Cahill, but I don't think anyone expected us to beat them.

Buddy at BSF told me they just opened a call center in India to handle the influx of Quinn inquiries.

Quinn should just follow Cravath. The bonus matrix is almost insulting. Below-market bonuses for people billing 2050 hours a year is hilarious. And if you're an 8th year who billed 3200 hours for the year? Congrats, here's your whopping 1.2xCravath bonus.
