For real?
I'm going to need a verification that the source has been vetted.
original tipster here. I can confirm that the source is high within the organization (not just some franchisee but someone who has power within the franchise-issuing body itself).

It would be laughable for them to go to 190. They pay 145 in some major markets. Frankly I'm not even sure many firms would follow them of they did that.

We’ve got the announcements from Cadwalader and Proskauer Rose for your viewing pleasure. Did either firm have the guts to top Cravath’s market rate?

Of course not. Don’t be silly. The only things here that are different from the Cravath bonuses are the dates the money will hit bank accounts.
Fuck you Staci.

It seems that other firms don't follow K&E, Cahill, Boies, etc. when they beat the Cravath bonus, but what would happen if a firm like S&C beats Cravath? Would firms who haven't announced yet match S&C? What about the firms who have already matched Cravath? Just wondering what if anything there is left to watch for.

S&C is the market leader when it comes to spring bonuses. However, when was the last time a firm tried to beat the Cravath for fall bonuses and succeeded (I know Skadden failed in 2008)?

S&C beat Cravath at the higher end of the seniority scale one year (or maybe even two years). Which firms followed was a mixed bag.

I guess since they're not a lockstep firm, then no. But if I'm at Cravath, which I may or may not be, this is pretty enticing. Granted, I'm not sure what happens to Boies when David "retires" but still...

They'll get bought out by DLA Piper. I've heard it from my source at both firms.

That's kind of moving the goal posts. Was the market set by Cravath? Yes. Did Boies easily beat it? Yes.

Who gives a fuck if they're lockstep or not.
