Contact their recruiter/hr person and be totally honest, but with one exception - don't mention that you already found a new job, as that could raise suspicions ITE. Ask the recruiter to help you explain the situation to the partners in charge, and emphasize that you want to defer your start for the foreseeable future, not renege, but you understand if that's unworkable and can accept it if they need to withdraw the offer, especially since the situation is so open ended. Ideally this will result in a "Call us when you know more" with no burned bridges.
