How Good does 2L Firm Have to be to Have a Shot at 3L OCI?

I realize that it's very difficult to land a job out of 3L OCI.

But how much does it matter where I do my 2L SA? I go to a CCN and didn't do particularly well at OCI this year. Will I be disadvantaged by going to a V100 or an NLJ 250 in lieu of a V50 if I'm looking to trade up next year?

I "traded up" from a V10 to a V5. I got the impression that it helped a lot that I had been vetted by a peer firm, but I don't think it was a requirement. Having had a 2L SA and an offer from the firm where I summered seemed absolutely essential.

My career services said V100. Helps if it was primary market.

I traded up from a V-40 to a V-5, and I do not go to a T-14 school.

May also depend on the firm's reputation within a practice group.

General vault rankings aren't always reliable in determining prestige if you're looking to breaking into a certain practice group.

Is it possible to trade up from NLJ 250 to V50?
