Sorry to keep asking... anyone hear from FDIC or CFPB yet?

To calm your nerves a little, the FDIC has historically moved slow. I wouldn't expect hearing anything from them until around Thanksgiving!

I hope that helps. :-)

For those that have had a cb with the OCC, do you know how many people they will be selecting this year and when decisions will be made?

For those who had OCC callbacks, what are your stats? And also, any related experience?

At the cb, I was told 5-8 hires was their initial thought, but now they might be taking a few more. They were unsure about the exact number. Also, they said we would hear back before Thanksgiving.

Thanks so much for this info! I heard only 5, but that makes me feel better that their is a range of 5-8.

Did the interviewers ask you what your practice group preference was?

Also, do you know how many people they extended callbacks to?

No kidding. It looks like it was written in another language and then translated to English via Babelfish.

Got this from them just now:

Thank you for your interest in the Honors Attorney Program at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The pool of applicants was highly competitive and, unfortunately, we are unable to extend interviews to all the terrific candidates who applied. After difficult deliberations, we have selected other candidates to interview for the program.

While you were not selected for the Honors Program, from time-to-time there are other opportunities for junior attorneys at the Bureau that may be a good fit for your skills, interests, and background. We strongly encourage you to monitor our website (consumerfinance.gov/jobs/) and USAJobs for open positions with the Bureau.

Warm regards,

CFPB Honors Attorney Team

I got that email as well. Funny how they rejected me considering last year I received three interviews with different non-legal divisons of their agency for summer internships.

I don't know why you would ever want to leave there. But, you would have a lot of options in the banking regulatory/financial institutions practices of Big Law firms in DC and in-house positions at banks or other financial institutions.

No, I applied for summer internship and haven't heard a peep... Just wondering what the consensus was ITT about exit ops. May apply again for honors next year. Sorry to derail.
