Edelson Chicago
Any inside information here? Hours, what bonuses are like (they mention a range from 5k-25k for signing, but is that just one 25k and the rest 5k without anything in between?), offer rates?
Seems to be a dearth of info here.

Idk if this is the kind of info you're looking for, but FWIW a good friend of mine interviewed with them and seemed to have the impression that they're total d-bags. Might have just been my friend's experience, though. Who knows.

they did oci at our school dressed in sandals and cargo shorts. they gave off a weird, look at us, "we are such rebels" vibe that was kind of offputting..

interviewed with them as well. same comments on the dress except one guy was wearing an open shirt with something like a wifebeater on and was super hairy. It was fairly disgusting. Additionally, throughout the interview, neither of the interviewers looked at me. one was on his computer the entire time, while the other was furiously texting away. I guess social skills aren't required for searching the internet to sign up plaintiffs.

I don't know anything about this firm.
OP: what is your situation? You have a callback, offer or just an interest in their practice?

I didn't get that impression from them. I didn't do a callback with them, but met them at a volleyball game/social gathering they organized. Granted, I'm a young male, but for the most part they seemed like folks I'd like to get a drink with.Anonymous User wrote:Idk if this is the kind of info you're looking for, but FWIW a good friend of mine interviewed with them and seemed to have the impression that they're total d-bags. Now, the hairy guy--or at least who I think he is--I got a bad vibe from as well. I just shrugged it off and figured he had chip on his shoulder interviewing at our school.
I'm very curious, as well, what one of their callbacks is like.

OP here. Did a callback a few days ago and it went well. Just trying to decide if I would take it over other Chicago Biglaw offers that are available.NYstate wrote:http://abovethelaw.com/2013/08/this-fir ... associate/brotherdarkness wrote:I had a screener with them that began by them handing me a yo-yo and deck of cards and asking me to perform tricks. To those that asked: callback is essentially like 7 different screeners. Some ask much tougher/personal questions than others.

Not that poster, but as far as I know, they took about 7 SAs this past summer - I know they didn't give offers to at least one, but I don't know specifically how many. Also, if you think about the size of the firm - about 30 attorneys - 7 is a huge percentage of that, so it doesn't make sense that they would be able to give offers to all of them
