That was my anon. Took exactly a week.Anonymous User wrote:How long did Wilmer take?Anonymous User wrote:Five CB in DC from lower T14, top of class, LR, previous work experience.
1 offer (Wilmer), 1 ding (Cleary), 1 silence (Sidley) (presumed ding), and 2 remaining CB to actually do
My experience during OCI was that everyone with decent grades that actively wanted DC got at least a few CBs. Didn't realize it was such a tough market.

I am top 1/3 at HYS. About 30 DC screeners. 5 CBs. 2 dings, 1 offer, 2 unknown (but at least one is likely a ding). So yeah, I found it to be pretty tough. Strangely, the one offer I got was from a v10 and my dings/silences were from much lower ranked firms.

So you got an offer from W&C? Congrats, but saying V10 seems unnecessary when only one DC firm is actually within that ranking.Anonymous User wrote:I am top 1/3 at HYS. No word from Crowell yet, however, decisions should be rolling out soon (this week, or next week).

Similar experience at top ???? (above median, I guess) from Yale. Didn't do as many screeners, but saw a lot of lower ranked firms, and my only offers are Hogan and Covington. You can see why it's so hard for someone who doesn't meet the top firms' grade cutoffs, because the lower ranked firms have such tiny classes.Anonymous User wrote:I am top 1/3 at HYS. It could be Skadden, which has a really good DC office (but wouldn't make the point quite as well).Anonymous User wrote:So you got an offer from W&C? Or S&C, Kirkland, Weil, or Cleary. Heck, W&C isn't even V10 (lol Vault).Anonymous User wrote:It could be Skadden, which has a really good DC office (but wouldn't make the point quite as well).Anonymous User wrote:So you got an offer from W&C? I have no idea why I thought W&C was #10, but anyway, my post was actually just meant as a passive-aggressive reminder that vault rankings are irrelevant in DC.
Cheers to those with offers!

I had a CB with WilmerHale over three weeks ago, still no word. Anyone have tips/insight to help explain? I assume I'm waitlisted, pending current offerees' accept/decline decision?

Re: DC Call backs/Offers
HYS, strong DC ties and previous work experience. I'd say I'm middle of the pack grades-wise in our class, non-URM. Only applied in DC. 9 callbacks, accepted 7. 6 offers so far (declined some to comply with NALP rules), 1 more callback to go.
I felt like it was tough going at the screener phase (I did about 40, plus tons of mass mailing), but better once the callbacks started.
