so firm calls you to make an offer, how does one respond in the immediate instance?

This is one of the most oddly worded/constructed questions I've ever read. I assume you're asking how to respond when a firm calls you to make an offer. If it's your top pick (or your last hope), go ahead and accept. Or you can always thank them and tell them that you will be back in touch as soon as you've made your decision.
