so firm calls you to make an offer, how does one respond in the immediate instance?

If you interviewed/met the person who called, you can call back and say thanks, but that there's a lot of things you need to think about before you make a decision. They'll understand. I've also heard emails work fine, but the general idea is to thank them and acknowledge the offer.

This is one of the most oddly worded/constructed questions I've ever read. I assume you're asking how to respond when a firm calls you to make an offer. If it's your top pick (or your last hope), go ahead and accept. Or you can always thank them and tell them that you will be back in touch as soon as you've made your decision. On my offer call, we discussed benefits, hours, salary, etc., but I don't know if that's normal or not.
