This makes me LOL because the head partner of one of their offices called me and literally said "obviously this is good news, it'd be cruel to call for a rejection."

So they knew what they were doing.

Dear Latham, Kirkland, Gibson Dunn, WilmerHale, and Milbank,

Your decision to neither call me back nor ding me has been a wonderful experience. I'll take the 2+ weeks of silence as a ding, but it would have been nice to receive something official like the rest of my classmates.

Dear Weil,

You laughed at my jokes, I showed I did my homework on your firm, and my GPA was safely over your callback median for my school (hell you complimented them so much that I thought it was weird). I hate you. Please change your mind about me. I can change.

Dear Jones Day,

Your interviewer was basically on my dick. My GPA is much higher than your callback median.
...and you sent my ding to the wrong email address? Are you serious? Isn't that a little unprofessional?
Hahahahahahahahaha fuck you. That was great news to hear a week after OCI with no callbacks. "we dinged you a week ago, we just fucked it up"

Dear Latham, WilmerHale

Jesus christ, how long does it fucking take you to ding me? Just put me out of my misery, I can't take this.

Dear LOLCadwalader,

You were a total throwaway interview - I was never a fan of screamers anyway. I'll gladly take my offer at a much better and more pleasant firm. No hard feelings bro.

Dear Nameless Northwest Firm,

Thanks for the prompt response to my mass mail application. It would have been nice if you'd changed up the form letter, though. "This recruiting season has been extremely competitive" sounds a little insincere when you ding me in mid-July, a month before you even start doing screeners.

Equally insincerely,

A Student

Dear Freshfields,

Thank you for your considerate second rejection yesterday. I suppose it is possible that I might not have received your rejection email, and not made any assumptions during the three weeks since my interview, so I think the rejection letter was a nice touch. Since you're part of the magic circle, I'll expect my third rejection to be delivered by owl.

Fortunately, since 'Freshfields' is obviously a supermarket produce brand, I was able to tell people the letter was just coupons for frozen peas.

Dear Firm I Forgot to Send My Resume to:

How did you know my credentials were so good? I mean they're REALLY good (or so 100+ firms have told me to date). Your recruiting person must be some kind of wizard.

Dear Winston Screener Interviewer,

You told me we would be best friends. I showed you how much I know about your firm and you laughed at all my jokes. Yet you called back over people.

Jokes on you I have better offers.

Dear Saul Ewing,

Your rejection email landed in my Junk Folder. How befitting.

Thread is just sad, man. Between people replying asking about CB timelines, people jokingly (sort of) asking for the firm to love them, and the rest just saying lol got other offers, I don't even.

Hey thanks for that full sized envelope. I'm so glad you got my hopes up just a little so that my rejection letter wouldn't have any creases.

WilmerHale's dings are pretty harsh. One email (post-screener) said that the hiring committee had met and decided that my qualifications do not merit further interviews and another email (from mass-mail) said that my qualifications don't meet their needs.

Dear Self,

You fucked up the usajobs application. Even though you had a screener w/ your favorite GubMint agency, you are "Ineligible" for the Summer Internship because you are an idiot ... and because of stupid red-tape bureaucracy which won't allow me to remedy my mistake

*facepalm*

Dear Skadden

Thank you for the ding 4 weeks after my screener. I hadn't gotten the message until now. Thanks also for getting the name of my on campus interviewer wrong. I'm sure "xxxx" REALLY enjoyed speaking with me.

Dear Holland & Knight,

Your interviewer spent 17 minutes of my 20 minute screener explaining your (very straightforward) business model, and did not ask me a single question...then you proceeded to ding me via snail mail.

Glad you hated that experience as much as I did.

Dear Millbank,

Thank you for your kind rejection email. I don't actually recall applying to your firm, but I appreciate the gesture.

Kindly,

A future Skadden employee
