CB is at 2 pm. My flight would take 3 hours + 1 hour time difference. Should I ask for a flight and hotel the night before or the night after?

Unless you have some important (non class related) reason to not fly out the night before, always fly out the night before. I'm trying to fly in during the afternoon the day before for my callbacks.

Not OP but splitting my stay amongst 4 firms. Issue is I have 5 nights in a hotel. Will the firms care if I'm saving them all the flight $? I can ask the travel agent to cancel the 5th night (fly out in the AM), and just sleep on a friend's couch - not so up for dishing out $300 for 6 hours of sleep.

Just talk to whoever the 'host' firm is and ask them. That is what they are there for.

Why did you book an AM flight?
