When did you mass mail them? Pre-OCI?

During. They actually came to OCI but I didn't bid them as I believed I'd never have to settle for enjoying DLA Piper. However, midway through OCI, I realized that others were getting CBs and I wasn't, so I spent every minute that wasn't in an interview room sending out my resume/transcript/etc. I wasn't exactly sure how to answer a "why didn't you bid us" question but it was never asked. Screener was two 30 minute interviews, FWIW.

drummed up what looks to be my only offer through mass mailing. definitely glad that I started sending my stuff everywhere once it looked like OCI wasn't gonna do it for me.

For the "don't waste your time" list: Alston & Bird has stated that it has an absolute policy of not considering direct applications for SAs.

Should I be following up on the firms where I dropped off my resume at OCI (was about a month ago).

Or should I try to contact an alumni for some additional information and attach a resume to the request?

Both or neither?

When do firms typically finalize classes?

How much does it cost? Is it easy to use?

$.25/per email (which includes any attachments) i spent ~$120 ... it is easy to use: sign in w/ gmail acct (which is the acct the email will originate from), select states/cities/firms then create cover letter, upload attachments, and fire away.

note: it CC's you so you will get a lot of emails in your inbox... it is good b/c you can see who "no longer works for the firm" and just forward the email to the correct person. all in all, it is a numbers game. fingers xx.

Looks like I am going to use resume launchpad then.

Is there anything I make sure I do not do? Anything I might just gloss over?

How different are straight-to-cb callbacks from screener > callbacks?

I suppose my GPA has to be pretty decent to have a shot with mass mailing?

I got one interview request a month later only after I followed up. Bunch of dings and "we aren't hiring SA's" that come within a week or so. Mostly silence.

Are these all just the same person hocking resume launchpad? It is so outdated. It has Dewey & LeBouef as a firm option. 2 out of 5 e-mails come back with "this e-mail is inactive" or "this person no longer works here," and thats only the ones that have responses set up for that. I'd wager over half those e-mails go NOWHERE. Also, firms are hip to this mass mailing these days and so another 2 out of 5 e-mails sent gets a response saying "if you want to apply, do it via our online portal," so they are able to weed out anyone too lazy.

It is outdated. I just check the firm info before I send. If the firm name is different, or there's a new contact person, I just take the email RL generated, copy-paste into my own email account, and send to the right person from there instead. It's really helpful for finding the firms and creating the emails, but it needs double checking.
