Asking for Advance - Atlanta

I have an offer from a Big Law firm in Atlanta. While I am thrilled with the offer, I am somewhat concerned about covering living expenses between graduation and my start date. Is it acceptable (or even permissible) to ask for a salary advance when no mention has been made in my offer letter or by recruiting?

they'll give you an advance. you'll probably hear about it in the spring anyway, but no harm in asking recruiting what their policy is there if you're worried
