Has anyone who did Queens first round through OCI heard about a second round recently, or were second rounds all long ago? I am still holding out hope, as I have not received a rejection and know that some people did.

Does anyone know any other forums for attorneys seeking to become DDAs? I'm looking to see if anyone else is applying for DDA positions all over CA like I am…

Denied a third round from Queens today via snail mail. Had my first two rounds beginning of November. Still waiting to hear back from Manhattan (for 2nd Round) and Bronx (for third round)

Just got hired at Harris County (Houston) !! Couldn't be happier. Hired on as part of the pre-select program, which guarentees employment as an ADA. Only scary thing is I am taking the bar in Feb and they told me if I don't pass first time then the offer is revoked. As if the bar wasn't enough pressure.

I know they started Bronx third round interviews right after Thanksgiving and are doing them all this week. According to the secretary, they'll take a break from interviews sometime next week for the holidays, which makes sense from last year's thread since some folks got offers around the 15th or 16th of this month.

i'm in the same boat. stressful waiting. they are trying to do 3rd rounds before christmas so if we don't hear in the next week or so, it isn't a good sign.

Seems like a bizarre practice if true

Just out of curiosity, at what point do they run a background check on you? I own a few rifles, legally, but wondering if this would hold up my application process. I have had 2nd rounds at manhattan, and Bronx, and was offered a 2nd round at queens. But I was outright denied from Nassau.

No, I applied back in August and still haven't heard anything.
Has anyone been accepted or rejected in Philadelphia recently?

Does anyone know if Miami asking you to fill out a background check means they plan on making an offer? Or do they ask everyone who makes it to the second and third rounds to fill it out?
And has anyone in general heard anything out of Miami lately?

A few people have had references called after the 2nd round - Has everyone had their references called? If mine haven't been called, is that a bad sign?

They sent me their employment application after I was accepted for a third round interview in NY. I haven't heard anything since then. What I've heard from multiple sources (which I'm taking with a grain of salt) is that if you make it to the third round, the job is yours to lose.

If I haven't applied to any DA offices yet have I pretty much missed the boat? I'm hustling really hard on the PD side but am debating opening up my job hunt to prosecution if it's too late then that makes my decision easy.

Hey everyone,
I don't know if this was addressed somewhere already in this thread, but when would you advise current 3L to start applying to DA offices? I know most offices don't hire until after the summer bar, so I didn't know if we should wait until the end of the spring semester. Thanks!

You should apply to DAs offices in August/September/October of your 3L year. Most NY offices have deadlines that passed, but I do not believe that they all do.

Has anyone else had a final interview/offer for the Bronx January class?

I know a few people have had final interviews for the January class. Was told by a person in the office that one person was offered a position on the spot, but that was because he had already passed the bar and was ready to work.
No word yet for Sept. Class.

What about DA offices that don't hire pre-bar?
