I got an email from a contact at Brooklyn and she says they are just starting to review the applications.

Also, they are still scheduling third rounds at Queens, so presumably there are still offers left.

Anybody heard anything out of Miami lately? I haven't heard squat since the New Year and am wondering if they have basically filled up at this point.

Current ASA there. Most of the offers have been given out. We're still waiting on all of the acceptances and rejections. Assuming you made it to round 3, you're not dead yet.

Anyone hear about any recent offers/rejections from Manhattan? Still crickets here.

Anybody hearing from Middlesex? I know they did a round of "early offers," but from what I understand, there are still a fair amount to go out. I know of at least one person who just scheduled a phone [first] interview, but nobody else I know of has heard anything in weeks.

Nothing for me, either. Last thing I heard was in the Manhattan thread, someone had a third round in January. I had a third round a while back, and nothing. I'm not sure what they're doing...at this point I'm tempted to call them.

I think most of these big offices in the city are probably waiting on the new budget to pass

Did you email and ask or did they just send you this unsolicited?

FYI word from middlesex (MA)

doing first interviews with law students who did not intern there now. former interns get first interviews waived. despite a few "early offers," they still expect to hire a decent sized class in spring/summer.

Does anyone know which state AG's offices hire out of law school?

MA has an uber-competitive process for a 2 year "honors fellowship." I was a "finalist," but ultimately did not get it. A more common path in MA is DA's office to AG, or firm to AG. Dunno about any other state ag's offices.

I emailed and asked. And there are still offers available for Queens, they are just not sure how many are left.

Can you elaborate regarding Queens? I was under the impression (perhaps mistakenly so) that they hadn't given out the bulk of their offers yet because they don't know their budget for next year.

I had a fourth round and offer with Manhattan the last week of January. While I was there two other people had fourth round interviews, and I saw a bunch of people doing second round interviews as well. Good luck.

Congrats and thanks for the update. Things are not looking good for the rest of us who are still waiting....

If it makes anyone feel better, I'm an ADA at a NY office and did not receive my offer until May.

middlesex and suffolk have started to move on scheduling second interviews, but from what I am told, it is a very long and very confusing process, with seemingly no rhyme or reason.

For Nassau, I have it on very good authority that they are hiring 20 and that the "hold" group has about 60 people in it, with about 5 positions left to fill by mid-April.

when a budget passes in the city-- I think that's when the panic can start again. Until then there is nothing to do but wait

Got a second round for Suffolk (MA) so they are moving forward on that front.

From last year's thread Queens and Nassau were among the last to hand out offers(all the way into mid-June) so it's going to be a long wait.
