But Ballard's Philadelphia office stayed constant with 12 summers in both 2012 and 2013.Anonymous User wrote:Here's the article that ATL regurgitated: http://www.americanlawyer.com/PubArticl ... 0719003911
Ballard went from 20 SAs (2012) to 15 (2013)

DM vs. DB vs. ML. Unsure lit/corp. I know it's pretty general, but anyone have any advice on these choices?

All 3 in Philly? Duane pays a little less than Drinker or MLB (which IMO shouldn't be a huge factor, but every little bit helps when you're trying to pay off loans!). I'd go with MLB, but thats really just because I know a few people who work there and they all seem to like it a lot, and the hours aren't too terrible (though saying that, just last night my friend didn't get home until around 1030).Anonymous User wrote:DM vs. DB vs. ML. Morgan Lewis is not more prestigious than Drinker Biddle in Philadelphia.Anonymous User wrote:I'd just go with MLB as well. DAT PREFTIGE.Anonymous User wrote:All 3 in Philly? Looking at this same choice too...I am leaning towards DB. Just a gut feel I guess.Anonymous User wrote:DM vs. DB vs. ML. Unsure lit/corp. I know it's pretty general, but anyone have any advice on these choices?

MLB is band one corp and band one lit. Drinker is band two in both. So, ya know, put that in your pipe.

Re: Philly OCI 2013
No I haven't. Hopefully that doesn't mean that there is a letter sitting in my mailbox at home. Idk if they actually stick to this, but their website says that decisions come out in the middle of october. I doubt they could afford to wait that long though[/quote]
DE firms are a lot slower than Philly firms because their class sizes are generally smaller so they do take a longer time to give offers. Don't give up hope! A few people in my class several years ago received DE offers towards the end of September/ early October.
Also, with the market how it is, they really can afford to wait. There's no shortage of excellent candidates. It also may be not so much that they are waiting to give any offers, but that they give very few and then have to wait to hear back before they give more.

I know Potter Anderson is notoriously slow in their hiring decisions.Anonymous User wrote: DE firms are a lot slower than Philly firms because their class sizes are generally smaller so they do take a longer time to give offers. Duane and MLB pay the same, Drinker pays less and you have an even lower salary during training. Check NALP if that's something that would affect your choice.Anonymous User wrote:All 3 in Philly? In terms of prestige, MLB is definitely up there both locally and nationally.
