Re: Philly OCI 2013
Had CBs at Pepper and Duane Morris already. Screener with Cozen scheduled.
Ding'd from Fox Rothschild and Blank Rome (never got screeners).
Waiting to hear from everywhere else I mass mailed.
Saw on ATL that Ballard and Stradley are shrinking their summer classes by ~25%.
Also, McCarter and English was the first firm I heard from, saying they aren't having a summer class in 2014?

Different anon from above, but yes, I've heard the same from McCarter & English. Good to know that wasn't just a subtle rejection.

I think the ATL story said that Ballard and Blank Rome shrunk their class sizes from 2012 to 2013. I don't think there is any indication that they area shrinking further, but I could be wrong.Anonymous User wrote:Had CBs at Pepper and Duane Morris already. Screener with Cozen scheduled.

Also, Ballard is indeed contracting their office space, but I think it has a lot to do with a major renovation that's going on that will use space much more efficiently and modernize the office. I remember reading that they just signed a long-term lease. A friend who works there told me that lateral hiring is pretty robust, especially in litigation, so I don't think they are shrinking by any measure.

Here's the article that ATL regurgitated: http://www.americanlawyer.com/PubArticl ... 0719003911
Ballard went from 20 SAs (2012) to 15 (2013)
Stradley went from 11 to 8
Blank Rome went from 16 to 21

From all accounts, Philly firms seem to be moving slowly at the local T2s but quickly at Penn. It seems only Penn students have CBs at this point despite the fact that most of the local schools are almost done OCI.

Philly firms definitely moved really quickly here at Penn. The big ones all gave CB's the next day, I think some may have taken an extra day or 2.Anonymous User wrote:From all accounts, Philly firms seem to be moving slowly at the local T2s but quickly at Penn. Ah, Penn is desirable in Philly this year? Wonderful news for us Temple/Nova/Rutgers peopleAnonymous User wrote:Agreed, seems that way from my experience.Anonymous User wrote:From all accounts, Philly firms seem to be moving slowly at the local T2s but quickly at Penn. Re: Philly OCI 2013
I'm the Penn anon who posted earlier that I think I struck out in Philly. I don't think Penn is more desirable in Philly this year than any other year. I do think Philly firm class sizes aren't getting any bigger (maybe even smaller again), and frankly I think its obvious the firms would rather fill the class with Penn kids than with kids from other schools, but thats not new.Anonymous User wrote:Ah, Penn is desirable in Philly this year? Rutgers/Temple/Villanova with CBs at Duane Morris and Cozen. Not completely out in the cold at the T2's.

Re: Philly OCI 2013
From a local T2 here. I think students from the area T2's are either being cautious not to out themselves or just don't really go on TLS (if they did they would have likely been scared out of attending a T2 in the first place). That being said, I am at least aware of some CB's at all the Philly firms people have asked about on here thus far, except for Ballard and Fox.Anonymous User wrote:From all accounts, Philly firms seem to be moving slowly at the local T2s but quickly at Penn. At Temple and Nova? I've heard of Ballard offers at Penn but not the others.
