Scheduling a screener interview after mass mailing
I've mass mailed roughly 100 firms in the past week, all of which are in NYC or DC. I've received two emails inviting me to come into the office in NYC for a screener/preliminary interview when I'm in the area. Problem with this is I go to a T1 in the midwest, and I'm not sure I'll be in New York casually in the next couple of weeks. Should I suggest a phone interview or perhaps wait for a few other responses (if any) and then make the expensive trip to New York for the 20 minute screener?

Ask if they reimburse travel expenses. It should be on their dime, generally.
