Depends if the firm has listed "no multiple interviews"(latham) or chose the two offices to be treated as two separate firms(Kirkland).

If it's the former, then the interviewer will see. If it's the latter, then I think it depends on the firm and whether or not they're communicating b/w offices.

When I bid both K&E/Sidley NYC & Chicago, one of them (can't remember which) mentioned in the "rejection" CB letter that they were pleased I got a CB for the other office. So some of them communicate at some point, but I'm not sure when exactly.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. But I think that when it has the multiple offices icon, it means that only one set of people are interviewing for multiple offices (thus they are guaranteed to know). I may be wrong on that point, but that's my knowledge.

Schiff
Perkins Coie

Katten
Latham
Winston Strawn
Mayer

Do NOT waste a bid on Winston by bidding it that high. You'll have other options, so Winston should be dead to you.

Different poster here. Sent in app to Cahill and had a screener last week; said they would let me know about CB later as the interview season is just starting. 178.5, some WE, networked with alumni there in advance.

Previous anon. Grats!

I don't wanna share grades considering there are likely few bidding Cahill, but I am KJD with no connection so I'm guessing those matter (I have a CB with a higher ranked vault firm with virtually the same application).

One takeaway is that they are reviewing apps now so if you're interested you should apply asap.

Any last minute bidlist suggestions? Chicago T2 transfer, top 3%, LR/Moot Court invites, wrote on to secondary UChicago journal, significant non-legal WE. Interested primarily in Chicago, NY as secondary market (all firms Chicago offices unless NY noted). Interested in litigation but open to transactional. Any feedback is appreciated.

Not commenting overall, but you might only get DPW in NY (not sure how high Boies goes, but 21 interview spots might go quick).

Any critiques to this bidlist (last minute I know) would be helpful. KE/LR. Everything Chicago unless noted.

1) Susman (Houston) (16 shared slots)
2) Sidley (84)
3) Kirkland (84)
4) Jenner (63)
5) Latham (50)
6) Perkins Coie (21)
7) Jones Day (42)
8) Skadden (84)
9) Paul Hastings (26)
10) Williams and Connelly (DC) (38)
11) Munger Tolles Olson (LA) (42)
12) Grippo and Elden (21)
13) Barack Ferrazzano (42)
14) Irell (LA) (42)
15) AZA (Houston) (21)
16) Wilson Sonsini (Palo Alto) (42 shared)
17) Eimer Stahl (21)
18) Gibson Dunn (Palo Alto) (42 shared)
19) McDermott (63)
20) Wachtell (42)

Particular questions I have are
1) Whether I should flip Paul Hastings and Jones Day to increase the likelihood of getting the former
2) Whether I could flip Grippo and Elden and Skadden and still (probably) get the latter.
3) If the selectivity of Williams and Connelly and Munger Tolles makes it safe to bid them that low or if they need to be higher.

Also yes this is geographically scattered; I know but I think it'll be ok.

Thanks so much!

You are going to HATE the scattershot geography when you are dealing with scheduling callbacks in 5 markets while also dealing with TPs and TAs for LR.

There's also a decent chance you'll get stuck with one (or even two) cite checks for LR during the second week of OCI or call back time.

I think it has taken as much as a week in past years. Seems ridiculous though, it's all done by a computer.

The important dates handout says August 8th, but it's probably later now that bidding was extended and reopened.

Depends if the firm has listed "no multiple interviews"(latham) or chose the two offices to be treated as two separate firms(Kirkland).

If it's the former, then the interviewer will see. If it's the latter, then I think it depends on the firm and whether or not they're communicating b/w offices.

If a firm is listed as "no multiple interviews" (e.g. Latham) and you get a screener for Office B but not Office A in the lottery, can you still be considered for Office A if it's your first choice?

Probably depends on the firm (I don't see any OCI policy/rules addressing the point), but this would seem to defeat the purpose of listing multiple offices. At any rate, you would be interviewing with their people from City X for City Y. What would you do, tell them how awesome City Y is?

I heard Woo confirmed August 8th after bidding was reopened. We'll see if that still happens.
