Sure, some firms are so big that they call back enough people and have a good enough sense of their yield that canceling one CB has no impact on the process.

On the other hand, some firms are small enough that if enough people cancel CBs, the firm will need to make up for it and call someone on the "waitlist." There are enough stories of delayed callbacks to know that it happens (even if it is a rare occurrence.). Also, it almost certainly helps people that already have a CB. If a firm calls back 6 UChicago students and 3 cancel, that is significantly less competition to be facing for a firm that wants a UChicago kid.

One thing is certain: doing more callbacks when you know which firm you are going to accept helps no one.

Thank you to the person who canceled CBs. At the very least, I and a few other people in this thread appreciate it.
Well said.

Now that we are back to sunshine and rainbows, OP we understand if you don't want to out yourself. So...blink twice if it's Kirkland.

Sorry misunderstood original question, didn't realize you were looking for CB rejections, this was for a screener.

Heard of an offer; unsure if it was from OCI, though -- I know they did the patent fair, and I know people that linked up with them pre-OCI.
