Dinged by Palm County PD, but accepted for Miami interview. These choices are seeming more and more random as they go on. I'm grateful to have any interviews at all since I got zero as a 2L, so it's not a complaint so much as an observation.

I was just dinged by them too I'm 2-3 now. Freaking out because I have a very strong PD résumé (4 PD internships two at top offices in the country, social services background and mental health advocacy, in court experience an CLI licensed). So confused

2L here, wondering if PDS DC won't respond today due to the government shutdown? Have already gotten responses from the rest of the offices I applied to.

This seemed to indicate that PDS was reducing its manpower to the bare minimum during the shutdown: http://legaltimes.typepad.com/files/pub ... ---fin.pdf

However, not sure where the EJW/summer hiring fits in. Anyone with a clue or who has heard back from PDS feel free to chime in.

Legal Aid Society is starting to cause me physical pain. Please just tell me, even if it's bad news. :(

Edit: Actually, no it was worst to get dinged from my dream job. I guess I'll direct apply and hope for the best.

To all who applied to the U.S. Court of Appeals, 2nd Circuit:

They will no longer be able to attend the Conference and Career Fair in a few weeks due to the government shutdown and its affects on their budget. While you received an email stating you did not get selected for an interview on our system for the Career Fair, the Court still plans to review all applications and contact applicants they wish to interview at a later date.

We apologize for this inconvenience.

Sincerely,
Equal Justice Works

Went 2 for 6. All PD offices. Accepted at BDS and Palm Beach County PD. Dinged at LAS, Miami, Colorado, and Bronx. Kinda bummed I didn't get some of my top choices because I am coming from across the country, but eh, can't really complain.

Accepted at 9 PD offices (2L summer). Waiting on PDS, noticed the deadline for preselect on their page changed to 10/8/13 which makes sense considering the email we got earlier.

Didn't hear the webinar b/c it conflicted with my internship...anything earth-shattering?

Folks who went in previous years--how long are table-talks ideally supposed to be?

Usually 2-3 minutes of chatting up the representatives and selling yourself.

So out of curiosity, are any of the workshops/seminars worthwhile? This will be my first time attending and I was just wondering how to schedule. I'm stoked though. I have 2 interviews that came in at the eleventh hour after receiving a string of dings for about a week.
