I had the same thing happen with a different firm. CB e-mail at the end of a business day, and got the recruiting email by the end of the next business day. It's only 10am, people are probably just getting to their offices. Wait until 4:45 pm today, and if nothing, then call recruiting.

Also make sure you're checking your spam folder.

Yes. Managed to get one the week before but other than that all that week.

ETA: Not that I have a ton. I have 4 CBs total so far, one that has yet to be scheduled.

Having our EIW so late and scheduling callbacks later than everyone else has to only hurt us even a little bit right?

Probably, but if the earliest they can do is early September then there's nothing you can do about it, and there's no point worrying about whether it affects the offer rate; play the hand you're dealt.

And while legal hiring is clearly a buyer's market, it won't necessarily always be that way. Firms don't want to risk alienating future NYU classes (and, perhaps more importantly, NYU alums who could stop bringing them business) by filling the summer class before we've even had a chance to interview.

Anyone been to any of these firm receptions this week? Are they similar to the ones thrown for 1L's? Different?

Different anon. Some firms have receptions for candidates they've invited back to callbacks but I don't know how common that is. Out of my 7 CB's, 2 have invited me to receptions. I went to one which was basically the same thing as a 1L reception except that I made sure to say hi to my screener (this was before my CB).

Similar question- anyone know what the protocol is for interviews with a cocktail reception after? I know OCS says don't drink at the callback lunches, but what about these? Stick with soda?

I think it's quite early to give up hope about NY CBs. Some firms haven't made decisions yet and others have a second round of CBs.

I went to one at Kirkland. They're similar to the 1L receptions, but a lot smaller, and the ratio of attorneys to candidates is usually higher. They also made a bit more of an effort to get us to talk to people who worked in our preferred practice group. It was relatively low-key, and I didn't get the sense that anyone was taking notes on our performance unless we did something really stupid. Sticking to soda is probably safer, and most of the other people there did that. The attorneys were drinking, but I didn't feel like they were judging people who didn't.
