Do you think it hurt if your resume indicated that you weren't a midwest native? I'm from the W coast and my resume pretty clearly shows that. My school is the only thing on my resume that shows midwest ties.

Re: 2013 CCBA Minority Job Fair
Makes sense. Firms probably balked at the 50/50 rule, feeling that they didn't wanna waste half their time doing this. Probably threatened to walk if the rule was enforced. So CCBA caved. As it turns out, most diversity fairs are preselect and nt lottery. Useless, I'm not flying out for 2 charity slots.Anonymous User wrote:Anon above with 0 3L interviews. I went last year and there was no add/drop period and no lottery despite them saying there would be.Anonymous User wrote:I thought they said it was supposed to be 50/50 or 75/25.Anonymous User wrote:There's no lottery?Anonymous User wrote:How is it possible to get 0 interviews if 50% of the interviews were supposed to be decided by lottery? Is that even possible?

Re: 2013 CCBA Minority Job Fair
Quick question -- I got 7 interviews, all of which are firms I bid on at another job fair more convenient in location and date [none of which are in Chicago which isn't surprising because I go to a midwest school not T14]. I have not gotten my interview schedule for the other job fair yet, though. Unfortunately, the CCBA fair overlaps with another that I'm more interested in attending, because it yields more employers from where I want to practice eventually. Will it look bad to the employers if I withdraw? Will they even know? Thanks for any advice you can give me! Good luck.

Does anybody remember the hotel where the interviews are taking place? The website appears to be down.

Those of us in the chicago area/ close by will just drive in for the day (or, in my case, take the train/bus in my suit...)Anonymous User wrote:Why do we need to drive? this year's CCBA seems more generous with the interviews, people with similar stats had a good 2-3 interviews less than those posted so far

Has anyone heard back from any of the firms after interviews? I know some firms have done callbacks the same day as interviews in the past, and it would be good to know when they do..

The whole day was pointless, I had one that even came out and said they don't hire SA they hire "clerks" and "clerks" don't become associates..... WASTE OF TIME

Re: 2013 CCBA Minority Job Fair
While that may be true for a few firms, I think there were a decent number of firms that were serious about hiring SAs. Obviously I could be wrong, but that was my impression.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard back from any of the firms after interviews?
