STB NY ding
MWE NY ding
Speaking of this, did everybody who received a Cravath ding email also get the line about applying as a 3L? I am completely assuming it was a standard email, but would also obviously be flattered if it wasn't.

Also - called DPW today and they said I would hear tomorrow about my application. Nobody received dings from them yet right? Fully expecting a rejection.
Ditto wrt DPW

We have some SoCal movement in the Yale FIP thread, FWIW.

I am fairly confused right now - if we have multiple callbacks in a single city, but they are spread out over different weeks and we will for sure be traveling back and forth between that city and Boston, do we still only use one host firm for travel arrangements? Or should we use different travel agencies for the different weeks? It seems easier to just use one, but it might also seem odd to use just the one if it is spread out over different days in different weeks with multiple flights/trains/hotel nights, etc.

Please answer only if you have also spoken to somebody in OCS about this same thing. I went today but their walk-in hours were "all booked" - however unexpected that situation played itself out as.

These questions should actually be directed to the host firm, rather than OCS. I had some funky things I had to pull off last year, and when I asked OCS, I was told to ask my host firm. If they sign off on it, you can do whatever you want. As long as you're not making weird unreasonable requests (that make it sound like you're trying to milk them for money), the firm is not going to judge you for asking.

But, a framework to keep in mind: the host firm has volunteered to be your host firm in the sense that they'll be the organizer who tallies everything up to split the bill with everyone else you visit on the same trip, basically saving flight costs. Your host firm probably does not want to play organizer for a trip they had nothing to do with. If you're doing something funky like Boston-->NYC-->SF-->LA-->NYC-->Boston, where it's unclear who should be paying for what, then discuss it with your chosen host firm in each city to see how they'd like to handle it.
This.

I'm pretty sure every single California firm has already given callbacks from last week (except maybe Gibson Dunn). This doesn't mean they have given every single callback so far, or rejection - but they have at least reached out to those that made their first round approval.

Same Yalie here. Assuming bloodbath. I currently have 1 ding and 2 CBs (plus a dinner followed by radio silence) from about 15 LA screeners, although one has a reputation for high CB-to-offer ratios, which makes me feel slightly better. Assuming some letters very slowly coming through the mail.

op here. i'm assuming bloodbath too. i got a pre-EIP v20 offer from there, and assumed my lack of ties wouldn't be a barrier, especially since I was never asked about ties. for some weird reason i keep getting v5 and v10 callbacks but absolute radio silence from anything beyond that (not that i'm complaining). 1 ding in SoCal and 1 ding in Norcal, so far. good luck to us all.

Dear XXX:

Thank you for interviewing with us recently. While your credentials and experience are impressive, due to the large number of applicants interested in relatively few openings, we regretfully are unable to invite you to the firm for further interviews.

I appreciate your interest in Davis Polk and wish you every success in your legal career.

Very truly yours,
Warren Motley

I suspect HLSers are probably in a better position for LA than us, because YLS has problems attracting enough LA firms. I've sent off at least 10 mass mailers or hospitality room resume drops for big LA offices that weren't recruiting at Yale. Skadden LA wasn't interviewing at FIP, ffs.
