Im worried I am going to strike out.. I hope it is still early, but I feel like it is not a good sign that I have not heard from firms that I interviewed with on the first day.

There are a lot of us. I keep being surprised by the number of people that I talk to that have just heard nothing from anyone. I'm still waiting to hear from 19 of the firms that I interviewed with. So, I wouldn't worry too much yet, because especially in smaller markets, fewer people will get flown back at a time, so this can take a while and will likely come in waves.Anonymous User wrote:Im worried I am going to strike out.. But if you're feeling stressed, there are two things you can do: apply to more jobs and study. I'm doing both prolifically.

Thank you so much for that! I feel like I am bombarded with people and friends who have several callbacks and even offers at this point. So thanks for putting my mind at ease.

Similar boat here just to add to the putting minds at ease trend. I've heard from less than half of my firms one way or another. The places I haven't heard from are in DC and smaller southern markets.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:There are a lot of us. to the tune of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcj-V4dEkdQ
Why do you build me up (build me up) Baker Botts, baby
Just to let me down (let me down) and mess me around
And then worst of all (worst of all) you never call, baby
When you say you will (say you will) but I love you still
I need you (I need you) more than any firm, darlin'
You know I bid you first from the start
So build me up (build me up) Baker Botts, don't break my heart
"You'll hear back next week", you told me time and again
But you're late, I wait around and then (bah-dah-dah)
I refreshed the thread, I'm goin outta my head
It's not you, you let me down again
(Hey, hey, hey!) Baby, baby, try to find
(Hey, hey, hey!) A little time and I'll make you mine
(Hey, hey, hey!) I'll be home
I'll be beside the phone waiting for you
Ooo-oo-ooo, ooo-oo-ooo

Re: 2013 UVA OGI Thread
Offer etiquette: if you recieve an offer do you inform the firm that you recieved it from that you would like to hold it open for x amount of time? My top choices I will not be interviewing at until the end of next week and the beginning of the following week so I don't know how long I will have to hold this offer open until. Also do I inform the other firms I am interviewing with that I have recieved an offer so that they can expedite my decision ?

Re: 2013 UVA OGI Thread
I would simply ask the recruitment person you have been interacting with for the details of the offer including the time you have to consider it. They know you are interviewing with other firms; it's not going to hurt their feelings if you take some time to respond. If they are a NALP member, you should have 28 days.Anonymous User wrote:Offer etiquette: if you recieve an offer do you inform the firm that you recieved it from that you would like to hold it open for x amount of time? I would wait until about a week after you interview with the other firms to let them know you are up against another offer's deadline and you prefer their firm over the offer firm.

Re: 2013 UVA OGI Thread
If a firm I interviewed with 2 weeks ago has sent out CBs and rejections, but I've heard nothing, does it mean I'm on a hold list?
