Pre-select interviews are up. top 5% MVP, SF native, 1 year work experience 18 bids, 0 interviews, 1 alternate. Mild hopes that something might change since it seemed like last year the bids didn't all go up at once, but yeah, this sucks.

The announcement said "San Mateo DA's Office and Weil Gotshal have not submitted their selections yet" which made me think that most other firms have made the selections. If that's true, it sucks...

Yeah, I think they said something similar last year, but then a bunch of people got interviews from other firms that hadn't been posted originally. So, I'm crossing my fingers and resigning myself to disappointment.

How do you know if you got an alternate slot? I have 3 pre-selects.

It would say "alternate." You probably don't have one.

That. Makes. Sense. Thank you, though in retrospect--that was a pretty stupid question, and a very forgiving answer given aforementioned stupidity.

Haha no problem. I am extremely gracious even when dealing with the disappointment of being rejected by every firm I bid on. Maybe I'll put that under special skills on an updated resume.

Kind of, I have a BS in chem (some firms are only looking for chem people with MS degrees and above, else CS or EE).

Below median, MVP, strong SF ties. 25 bids, no invites. This does not bode well for OCI!

I only did 17 bids. No invites, one alt. I should have bid on the max, but that probably wouldn't have made a lick-o-difference. I want to work in the Yay Area too.

Below median MVPB, somehow ended up with 2 pre-selects through a miracle of miracles. I guess this isn't entirely based on grades after all.
