I swear, at the end of the session as I closed the door behind me, I thought I heard a shredding sound and muffled laughter. Meanwhile, got dinged by Chadbourne NY, where my stats are way above their norm. Go figure.
Keep your chins up.

heard good news from MB-NY too

Either of you from SHU?

I dunno. Does that stand for South Hampton University?

My school's not called SHU. I assume you're talking about Seton Hall.

I interviewed with them for OCI (20 mins), and it was just:
a. what did you do this summer
b. why are you interested in patent lit
c. what courses have you taken? any course in particular that you think has helped you do lit this summer?
d. what did you do before law school (tech work?, tech ug?)
e. what do you wanna know about Fish?

Thank you! I just looked at Vault.com and it seems that Fish only had 21 SA's firm-wide last year... That data point is definitely not encouraging.

They canceled their interview schedule at Fordham a week before OCI.

For future PLIP attendees: in addition to the preselect interviews I got, I was also given interviews as an Alternate (1) and an Alternate (7). Both were out of my east coast T1's market and I got CBs to both.

Don't get down if you see a bunch of alternates.

I typically think that you shouldn't read too much positivity in to screeners. They have already committed the day, most times they will fill the docket even if there are only a few real strong candidates they think will go to the next level. If you get a CB then its much more meaningful. That is typically a very costly interview (attorney time, travel) and most* people will be less concerned with stats and more about making sure you'll be a good fit.

saw here earlier that someone had gotten a CB for LW(Chi). Anyone gotten a ding from LW? Might just be my misplaced optimism maintaining a glimmer of hope that I'm on the "back up" CB list...

I would second this. So far I am getting slaughtered on the screener to CB ratios. 4/22, although I am hoping that it is still early enough that I might pick up a couple more. I think my resume is impressive enough to make me a worthwhile gap filler for the sake of interesting conversation, but not necessarily a "must grab." Maybe I am doing something wrong in the interviews, but I've always felt I was a decent enough interviewer. Plus the callbacks I have secured have been with some big names. So far nothing from the market I was predominantly targeting though so maybe my reasons for wanting to be there weren't quite compelling enough.

I think a lot of it has to do with the sheer volume of variables.

A lot of IP work will turn on your technical background, EVEN if you are interested in Lit.
