Don't worry about callbacks yet. different markets operate on vastly different timelines. And many firms move even slower because they aren't set up for callbacks yet.

Though don't dot sit around and wait, prep for oci, mass mail, etc. etc.

I'm a 3L sitting on a offer from my summer firm but looking to trade, so I can't but feel antsy about waiting :(

Why would YOU feel antsy? You should be least antsy. Worst case scenario you take a firm you don't want.

It took a week to get my 3L callbacks. So feeling antsy on Sat. night is way too early.

Email ding seems kinda rude, but at least they let you know quickly, so that is nice of them. Sorry to hear though.

Every time my phone dings or buzzes I think/hope it's something related to PLIP. But it's not. The waiting continues...

There has been ZERO business days since Loyola ended, and one since it began. I wouldn't worry til this Friday, but even after then I still got 2 CB after that two years ago.

Anyone have any thoughts on choosing between biglaw vs large boutique for IP lit? I figure a boutique will maybe give me more early-on hands-on experience, but biglaw IP gets more interesting clients/cases and has deeper litigation resources, so which is better for starting out your career?

Callbacks for Greenberg Traurig and Drinker Biddle and Reath, both in Chicago. Ding for Foley and Lardner (electronics patent prosecution).

Hey all, do you think it's safe to say that if you were interviewed by associates, the response time will be longer? I assume associates aren't allowed to make hiring decisions alone, so they'd have to wait till the recruiting committee meets before any decisions are made.

Why don't you worry about that when you get an offer? (actually 2 offers). I'm sure you don't want to jinx yourself.

Probably means that your screening was just a resume drop. You're right in that associates are drones, without any real authority. Unless you do something spectacular (like dropping your pants during the session), nothing they say will influence the hiring committee.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
