Yeah. I'm anon who first replied to v20 breh/sis. I think the CB stage is a far more level playing field. They let you in. From there, I think credentials matter less, though they still do. At the end of the day tey have to chose, and if they can't distinguish you from.the others they'll go with the objective measures.

I focused on firms from the Midwest, had 9 interviews total, and have yet to hear anything from any firm. I'm just assuming things run a bit slower out here.

If the MB screeners for Chi (or anywhere else) was like MB NYC, then there's no hurry b/c we're all dead anyway. What a sucky experience.

Any 3Ls get a CB from Foley Lardner or Jenner Block?

I get the feeling there were at PLIP just to be there and not to hire....Foley in particular.

Or maybe i'm just all sour grapes :D

HA. I am scheduled for a 100% ding with MB Chi and haven't heard back from them, so they at least haven't gotten around to sending out dings yet.

This waiting for the phone to ring business is brutal. So far radio silence from the firm I came out feeling like a lock for CB with and received a CB from a V20 that I thought I had no shot in hell with. I don't think I will ever understand legal hiring.

Just got a CB from Mayer Brown NY. I'm the one who posted above about how the screening sucked. (Don't I look like a f__king asshole now). I swear, at the end of the session as I closed the door behind me, I thought I heard a shredding sound and muffled laughter. Meanwhile, got dinged by Chadbourne NY, where my stats are way above their norm. Go figure.
Keep your chins up.

I thought the screeners at MB (DC) were pretty nice. Both associates and gave me the CB in the interview.

Wait, just to clarify - the Mayer Brown interviewers were associates, and they were able to give you the callback by themselves? Always thought only partners could do that.

Nevertheless, congrats!
