Soooooo, by this time next week, hopefully, firms should be popping up on my PLIP Simplicity, heh? Did they say what time the results would be released?

Probably will be 12am central time on the 24th.

Question for past PLIPers: my OCI bidding starts the 25th. Should I re-bid in OCI on those firms that ding me for PLIP, or would that be a wasted OCI bid?

I personally know 3 people who were dinged for PLIP and got offers through their OCI. Some firms use PLIP to access people they normally wouldn't see through OCI and thus ding based on that alone- others are all for two rounds. Either way, bid again if you're interested!

5-ish years substantive but more WE not tech related

School = 100+ ranked
(T-20 is WUSTL... Still awaiting GW/GULC decisions... This week maybe)

(T-20 is WUSTL... Still awaiting GW/GULC decisions... This week maybe)

You should have a solid shot at GW and/or GULC, both of which would give substantially better odds than WUSTL. It's a complete crapshoot at that though- based on hearsay, you could have 10 or you could strike out.

Are you purposely setting your expectations low so you won't be disappointed? You've got to be more positive, man. As far as I'm concerned, you're definitely getting 26 screeners. and I'll be right behind you with 24.

i dunno, perhaps that is what i am doing... i am fully confident in my ability; however, i am not sure how the non-PB + transfer thing will shake out in the eyes of the powers that be...

What wrong with parlaying your prev. internship into a SA at Kenyon? You should have developed some connections. btw, which office and how was it?

The internship was through my school, and was not going to lead to a SA. I had a CB during last fall's recruiting season that didn't turn into a SA position. I made connections, but only for references/recs, not the type that would allow me a job opportunity. It was the NY office and was a great experience.

A couple firms were added to the PLIP at last minute. I am having an error with submitting my updated transcript as a PDF because it says file size is too large. I believe I had this issue last time but I cannot remember how I figured it out! Thanks in advance for the help.

Pi!? What were your LS creds at the time you bid, are you PB eligible? Can you elaborate on you experience at PLIP? Interviews, vibes you got, questions they asked? Anything along those lines... Thanks!

At the time of bidding, I was top 15% at a T30 (but my grades were lower during interviews). Yes, I am patent bar eligible.

I thought that the PLIP was an awesome experience. You get the opportunity to meet with most employers who are doing the type of work you want to do, and you get to compare them quickly to get a feel for the kinds of firms you will like and dislike. Depending on how many interviews you have, it also becomes very easy to see what works and what doesn't, and you will vastly improve your interviewing skills if nothing else by the end of the program.

The questions they will ask you will not be much different than what you would get at normal OCI. For example, why law school, tell me about X on your resume, what's an interesting fact, any questions for me, etc. Occasionally you may get someone who wants you to answer a substantive question, but that's the exception for sure. I think the most important thing is to remain relaxed but focused and be personable and likeable to the interviewer.

I'm not sure what you mean by "vibes"-did you have questions about specific firms?

My UG grades were pretty decent, around A- average. Pretty much every firm asked for them (normal at PLIP, virtually unheard of anywhere else). Can't say what effect it had on their hiring but I'd guess it helped.

I did not have WE, just some college internships.
