All in NYC market. Problem is that slots at both PLIP and Vault MCCA are preselect, so at least initially, my thinking is that there's no difference. However, from past threads , I'm getting the feeling that screeners at diversity fairs aren't as into the process as for other job fairs like PLIP. I figure that, for diversity fairs, the firms' chief motivation is to show how inclusive they are by extending a helping hand to the underrepresented, while at PLIP, the firms are self-motivated by the skill set enhancement that comes from hiring an engineer/scientist. Put it another way, for diversity fairs, they're fulfilling an obligation, while at PLIP, they're helping themselves.kyle010723 wrote:Ouch, thats a tough one, Latham vs. Paul Weiss. Are they in the same market? Or is one in your target and another is not?Anonymous User wrote: The 3 in DC include Latham (other 2 are not much).. The 1 here at PLIP is Paul Weiss, alternate at Jones Day. Another small issue is the flight from Chicgo to DC & back.
This all ties with complaints I've read about diversity fairs that the interviewers often seem to be either second-level hiring staff or just going through the motions. Don't know if my perception is off-base or not. But needless to say, this decision is painful either way.
