If you add up the data posted ITT thus far, Michigan doesn't come out looking too bad.
T14 # of SA spots (all markets)
Yale 35
Harvard 114
Stanford 30
Chicago 30
Columbia 79
NYU 95
Penn 42
UVA 47
Berkeley 40
Michigan 36
Northwestern 25
Duke 30
GULC 55
Cornell 29
Yeah that's probably a pretty useful piece of data, right?
Nah. Come on.

Can anyone speak to the number of transfers their firm hired? That would be interesting to see...I'm not sure if there's any data out there on which firms are most favorable to transfers.
I assume you could only figure this out from talking to your fellow SA's, which means you may not have the chance to find out about offices other than your own.

they will get at least 1/3 in big law anyway. They always do.
1/3 blows
Anecdotally confirms the experience of my friends. Mich is really struggling. Sad to see the mighty fall.

I'm a Michigan rising 3L. The vast majority of my friends who did OCI and wanted BigLaw got it (literally I can think of 1 person who didn't). And I don't think I hang out with a particularly gunner-y crowd.

Having "only" approximately 60 summer associates will do that. STB usually has anywhere fr 80 to 100+.
