they won't even remember your namecolerain wrote:Due to terrible timing I have my suits in different cities and no real way to get them.
Wore a suit to OCI (gray suit) and now have a CB. As far as I know I'll be meeting the same people @ CB that I did in OCI.
Can I pull off wearing the same suit (obviously different shirt/tie)?
OCI and CB are a couple of weeks apart. Not having any luck finding a suit in such a short time frame.

You could wear the same suit and tie to interviews with the same guy on two sequential days and there's a good chance he wouldn't notice.

Word. Remember, even a well-heeled businessman will likely rotate many shirt and tie combos through a handful of suits. You can only have so many shades of Navy, Charcoal, and gray suits.thesealocust wrote:Dany wrote:Absolutely no one will notice or care.

Seriously? What the hell is wrong with you? What kind of megalomaniacal psychopath are you that you imagine other people commit what you wear to memory? Do you honestly think you would even remember which suit you wore to your interview two weeks ago if it wasn't (apparently) the only suit you have?colerain wrote:Due to terrible timing I have my suits in different cities and no real way to get them.

He's probably just a 1L nervous about an interview. We've all asked stupid questions on TLS before.

The only solution is cufflinks. Expensive ones. If you want to play it safe, pairing them with monogrammed cuffs would be optimal. Also, banker's collar if you're a Winter.

TBH, I would probably remember if it was the same tie. Maybe it is weird, but I do like ties.

I've done a ton of formal job interviews in my life--often with repeat interviewers--and I'd suggest just wearing a different tie. You'll be fine.

I've had success with cufflinks for interviews so its not as big of a faux pas as people on TLS would make you believe
I don't like wearing the same suit two days in a row though especially in the summer, prefer to let them air out a bit.

Re: Same Suit - 2 Interviews
The issue with cufflinks isn't that they're a 100% sure way to get dinged. Indeed, many people love them and some women adore a man in them. The issue is that cufflinks have the potential to send the wrong message. Some interviewers may think they're great, some may not care at all, but some may be rubbed the wrong way. They could be viewed as pretentious or flashy. Some may think you have to "earn" the links and fresh faced law students have no business waltzing in with them. Some may associate them with Saul Goodman types. Some may just think they're ugly.kryptix wrote:I've had success with cufflinks for interviews so its not as big of a faux pas as people on TLS would make you believe

You're not usually going to know what your interviewers' thoughts on students wearing cufflinks are. By wearing them, you're taking an unnecessary risk unless you heard from an inside source that particular individuals will give you points for French cuffs.

You'll be fine. During one of my callbacks they stuck me in the office of the person who did the screener so I could say hi. The attorney had no idea who I was.

i always wear the same tie for interviews; no one has ever asked me about it, but if they had, i would have just said it was a lucky tie with a smile.

(Implying that it isn't a total mistake to wear anything but a crisp white shirt to an interview.)northwood wrote:wear a different tie/ shirt color combination if you are that worried and dont think about this again.

I would even go as far as to say that they expect you to wear your same "game day" interview outfit every time they see you.

Re: Same Suit - 2 Interviews
True, they indubitably keep notes and if you aren't wearing the same suit they will assume either (a) you were not serious about their firm during OCI or (b) you aren't serious about the interviewthelawyler wrote:I would even go as far as to say that they expect you to wear your same "game day" interview outfit every time they see you.
