I don't have a problem practicing in WV, but I have family issues that may require me to relocate at some point.

Would it be easier to relocate with a big 4 versus one of the other firms? I think those firms you just mentioned are great firms with great people.

I guess what I am asking is this: if I am forced to relocate outside of the state because of family, would it be harder to with one of the smaller firms? Or no different than with the big 4?

Also, how are the big 4 in terms of return employment for 1ls/2ls versus the other firms? That question might be too broad.
I wouldn't move to WV with the plans of relocating "one day." You go there if you can practice there for the rest of your career. JMHO.

I have no idea about the other smaller firms for "return employment," but the big firms are all pretty solid in hiring their SAs.

Thank you.

I already live there. I was just hoping with one of the big 4 I could move offices if need be and depending upon where I start. There are a couple that have offices where my family is in.

But that's probably difficult.

I would imagine you could re-locate within the firm to a different office for valid reasons. I have no idea how that would work, though.

Nothing new there. Applying late and no meaningful ties to WV = ding.

Lol, I know. He actually called employers from WV over Christmas break and they specifically said they wanted WVU kids.

Really good ties can get you in as well, but obviously he didn't have those either.

Seconded. Working for Big 4 this summer, non-WVU but solid ties to WV.

Congrats. Fairly rare to land 1L gigs in WV from out of state.

I'm excited. Hoping to start my career at the firm because I can smell the stench of fall OCI from here.

Maybe I feel this way because I will be summering there, but Steptoe clearly has the nicest website out of the Big 4.

Shameless plug?

I will be summering there as well. They do have a nice website, but I like Spilman's as well.

In any event, I think Steptoe is headed in a positive direction. The firm really seems to be growing and it is definitely the largest of the Big 4 and has most opportunity.

I am glad that I will be apart of the team.

Any new big four offers? I feel like there was a rush last week but they seem to have tapered off.

Well the classes are filling up. I know Steptoe has a spot or two left with a few undecided people weighing options.

I'm surprised Steptoe is not done (how do you say no?).

NM might not actually be done, hearing that they are still looking.

JK I believe is done?

Nelson has out at least one outstanding offer. If the offer(s) are accepted, they will be done.

Cannot comment specifically on Charleston office, but with it being April I would be surprised if there hasn't been movement.

I'm curious to the dress code too. My CB at steptoe was pretty casual but didn't know if the same applied to SAs

Yeah I own 2 suits so I feel like that's enough. Unless anyone has experience with an expectation of formal dress I'll probably just keep what I have.
