wanted to know how similar they are as with callbacks and the like
Do you get a callback or are offers given normally off the bat...I ask because I had a friend recieve an offer after jus the original OCI interview last week but it was for a mid-size firm not big law
Does 1L Oci work the same as 2L OCI Forum

Depends on the firm. Some firms give callbacks. 1L OCI and 1L SA positions are more advertisement for the firm than a real job interview, so they aren't going to want to invest as much time vetting you.

1L OCI is much less formally structured than 2L OCI, at least at most schools. The nature of 2L OCI makes it basically a sprint where firms want to see as many students as soon as possible and then extend callbacks/offers to the best candidates as soon as possible. 1L OCI drags on over a longer period of time and different firms hire at different paces. Most firms do include some sort of second interview-- often but not always identical to the "come to our office and have four to six 20-minute interviews" format of callbacks.

Struck out at 3 firms you got an screener interview? No problem at all. Virtually nobody gets a 1L SA without something special.Anonymous User wrote:aces wrote:1L OCI is much less formally structured than 2L OCI, at least at most schools. Struck out at 3 firms after you got a callback, I'd be a little worried.
