1L. Barely top 50%. Do I put my gpa on my resume or leave it off unless a transcript is requested?

Thanks!

Yes, or people will assume it is worse.

+1, put the GPA but not the class rank.

Put the class rank too. They will just ask you about it anyway. Or, if it's a firm familiar with your school, then they will know about where you are regardless. And if you're barely above top 50%, it's better they know that you are than assume you're below.

I know my OCS recommended putting GPA no matter what unless it's like bottom 10%, but to only put rank if it's above median. Honestly, though, I agree with Kalvano that you should basically put rank and GPA no matter what. If they don't care about rank and GPA, then you putting it won't bother them. If they do care about it, then they're going to ask and they might get the impression that you're the type of person to hide bad news (not a great trait in a work setting).

I always kept my GPA on my résumé even though I was never above median. Best advice I heard was to keep it on if its above a 3.0, otherwise keep it off.
