Q: 1L Summer in DC

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jan 17, 2013 9:50 pm

I'm a 1L from the Mid-Atlantic region and I want to practice in DC after I graduate. I go to school at Wash U and am in the top 25% (if I were any closer to the top 20%, I'd be in it). Got a CALI in one class, but bombed another (not sure how much either of those things matter). My previous work experience isn't exciting--mostly summer jobs.

I'm mainly wondering if it would be plausible for me to get a 1L SA in DC.

Any helpful comments are welcome (including any other tips for things to look at in DC).

Thanks!

Are you an URM? If so, possibly but you're late in the game.
If you're asian or white? Highly unlikely unless you have marketable non-law related skills (i.e. an engineering degree).
