Interviews and black hose

Postby Anonymous User » Thu Jan 17, 2013 2:11 pm

I know hose are necessary for interviews (especially because I am in the North and it is cold), but must they be nude hose? I would prefer to wear sheer black hose. I am 1L and interviewing for summer positions. I will be at the NYU Fair and also some on campus interviewing in the next few weeks. It is almost all exclusively public interest.

So, can I wear black hose (with a black suit), or must they be nude.

Thanks!

Honestly, I think you'll be fine. Nude is the more conventional choice, but I like the look of sheer black too.

Also, you're interviewing for public interest jobs. I imagine they're less critical about adhering to a certain look.

Is there a difference between black hose and black tights (I guess hose are sheer and tights are opaque. Does that matter?)

I think tights look a bit casual for an interview, and hose are better. But that might just be me.
