Taking two bar exams?

I'm going to work for the feds after I graduate. I want to really make sure I pass a bar exam because I don't want to miss the boat on my job. I wanted to take my home state bar, but it's one of the harder ones (think NY/CA). Can I/should I take another easier one (sort of as a safety net) to ensure that I pass a bar exam and can work as a lawyer for the gov't? Much thanks.

You can pass the Cal or Ny exams. Don't be a weeny. Just study hard.

So you really want to pass the bar. And your strategy is to then split your time between two bars?

FWIW, I know someone who worked for the feds and failed the bar the first time around. They let them keep their job and take it again. (Though this might not be the case if your job requires you to be in court from day one, I suppose.) But basically I agree about working hard to pass one before worrying about taking a second.

Yes, I suppose you're right. I am being a weeny. I just REALLY REALLY don't want to fail the bar. This is a good fed job that only requires bar passage from any state.

NY is one of the easier bars...
